My wife works at a salon and the employer makes staff meetings mandatory, even if you are off on that day. On top of that , they have to make up the time they spent in the staff meeting on another day since they weren't working. The same goes for training. The owner has people come in to teach and give trainings , but she makes these mandatory and on top of it you have to make up the time. None of the trainings or staff meetings are paid but they take up half or even sometimes the whole day. Next week my wife has to literally work 7 days but will only be paid for 4 of them. I feel this is wrong, but maybe the owner can do whatever she wants. I also am afraid to do anything about it in case she is fired. Can anyone else weigh in on this?
