I'm 21 years old, I don't have very much debt, and I make about $2000/mth take home. But I'm still living paycheck to paycheck? How do I stop myself from spending money on useless shit?

My necessary expenses are:

$280 for car insurance $120/mth (ish) in gas $60/mth for my cell phone

I occasionally put lump payments on my credit card to the tune of $250/$300.

And I go on one vacation a year, but that's not for a few months at least and I have already started putting aside money for it.

Please help, I know I can do better than I currently am.

(I'm in Canada btw)
