I am a medical student and we are required to have a car for rotating on the wards. After a year of clinical rotations, however, I am going into PhD so I won't need a car then.
I figured that most of the time I will be placed at an inpatient site, and those places are mostly walkable. I figured that in the worst case scenario I will need a car for up to like 4 months total, each of which will be spread throughout the year. Best case scenario I will only need the car for like a month or less over the next year.
In this case wouldn't it cost less to just rent? However, the unpredictability of my placements makes me want to just own...
EDIT: Thinking even ubering might be an option because depending on the site it would cost <$20 a day per commute, 5 days a week.
EDIT 2: Almost $50/day for some sites if I uber. Hopefully I won't be placed there.
