I am a 25 y/o female who has been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. Unfortunately I've stopped responding to treatment which means I need to make the most of these last few months.
With all the treatments, my medical bills are well into the 100's of thousands of dollars - potentially into the millions by the end of this all.
I do have a few assets that I'd like my family to keep - a modest bank account, some family heirlooms, lots of pictures. How can I make sure those don't get collected when they go to collect on the medical bills?
I also want to be able to pay for my family to go on an adventure afterwards, one where they can celebrate my life and be happy together. Are there any jobs I can hold from bed for the next few months that could earn some money to help fund that trip? I don't want my family to know about it until I'm gone.
Also anything I'm not thinking about but should be? I do not want my family to have to worry about anything when I'm gone... I'd rather take care of as much of the admin stuff now as possible.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
