The buyers wanted to close on 12/14 and stay in the home until 12/21. We agreed to these terms as we didn’t see any issue.
However, our lender says this is an issue from an insurance perspective. They were not able to clearly explain why. They do not want to release funds until we take possession of the home.
So now we don’t have a loan that will close on time. Is it even possible to start with a new lender and close by 12/14? Should I beg the sellers to change the closing date to 12/21? Is my earnest money at risk?
So confused and frustrated.
