My dad growing up hardly ever had money, despite getting a decent paycheck each week (usually $1000-$1200). He's always rented a home, never bought one (until last year, now he's making late mortgage payments). For as long as i can remember, he's been behind on bills, whether that's racking up $500 bill from verizon/cable, late on his utilities, sometimes to the point of getting out power shut off. He recently got married to a girl that makes $25k a year and has 3 children. They're now up to 7 dogs as well. He has a motorhome, a fishing boat, a pool in the back yard that's recently skyrocketed his utility bill because of the water it takes. He always buys super unnecessary things like loads of junk food for the kids, super amounts of sodas, water, goes out to eat often etc. there is cable boxes in every room of the house, tv's (must be at least 5 of them) constantly on everywhere. Despite all of this junk he has, he is barely living paycheck to paycheck and they both moan and groan about being broke. For years my grandmother, me, my aunt (his sister) have all tried so hard to convince him about his careless spending and because of it he's been living this way. Is there anything any of us could do, advice for him, or anything that could get him to understand what he's doing? I don't know how to approach this subject with him without him getting mad and totally denying it. I'm 19, a sophomore in college studying finance and i can't let this go on anymore

tl:dr; Father spends more money than he can afford to and needs help, any advice is appreciated.
