For some quick context: My car was totaled about a month ago and I only just got the insurance payout last week. I used a majority of the payout as a down payment on the car I wanted, which is in Idaho, and using some of the extra to pay for the transport to NY, where I live

This is where my issue starts. I used an online service I found called Shiply which puts out a posting to transport companies and they all submit quotes, then you comb through and choose which one you want to go with. I went with one I found that had overwhelmingly (96%+) positive reviews and made the deposit. Turns out these companies are actually just brokers through this service and you do get the name if the actual transport company until after a deposit is made. Well, this company I ended up getting paired with seemed really sketch. The "confirmation form" was just a Google doc with fields for basic information like pickuo/drop-off address, contact name/phone number, and make/model of the car. I'm doing all this on a Saturday, so I don't actually hear from anyone until Monday. They say they're going to "look for a driver" and let me know when the pickup will be. Finally I get a call THIS MORNING that the pickup will be at 7 PM Idaho time, so I let the dealership know as well

Pickup time came and flew past, nobody ever came. Dealership wants to know what's going on, so I call the transport company. The guy that picked up had zero information, no clue on what I was talking about, and said he had to call "support". After waiting for over an hour I call back and finally get an answer, though it's the same person. He says he'll try calling the driver. Again I'm waiting a half hour, so I call back again and his excuse is the driver isn't answering, so I have to wait until morning for their support team to call me

At this point I'm ready to give them the boot and go with another company for the transport, but the one detail I left out is I had to pay a deposit in order to book this transport company through that website, so there's probably now way I'm getting that back. It's already been almost a month without a car and I'm getting really frustrated with this whole process.

Am I getting scammed or should I see this through to whatever end and just never work with them again?
