My partner and I have lived together for 9 years. We have a 3yo son. We split big expenses like rent and day care, don’t track the smaller stuff like groceries and eating out. I think we both feel like we contribute equally financially to the household. We file taxes separately, and I claimed our son for the first time this year, going forward we will probably switch years. Is there any financial benefit to getting married?
