I went to ER for chest pain and ended up getting admitted for observation. I just received the bill. I requested an itemized bill, but that takes 45 days. We have money to pay it no problem, but even with insurance, the bill seems high for 1 night - it’s around $2250. I thought I could make a claim under Aflac, but was denied since it was ruled out to be a heart attack. What is the best way to handle this? Am I able to negotiate to a lower amount that seems more fair? Or do I need to wait for the itemized bill? Can I rush them to get it to me? I don’t need it to go to collections and nor do I want to push the time table to that point.
