Hello! This is unfortunate, but I got scammed by someone posted on Facebook marketplace an ipad air with a decent price. After our exchange information, he keep pushing me to pay him $250 for the iPad. I agreed to send half the payment after he gives me the shipping track. However he told me to pay half. After agreed and pay him half on App Cash. 20 minutes later, he blocked me. I immediately tried to cancel and contacted Cash App and my bank. BAC tolds me to contact Cash App. After some emails back and forth. Cash App told me they are not financial entity and cannot refund the money. What should I do at this point? I have all the information of the seller and even after some digging. I got his driver identity card along with where he is currently living. Should I contact the local police and report them. He is living in New York and around 20 years old. I am planning to call my bank and report fraud, but not sure what to do next.
Edit 1: I have all the proof and his identity card I found from his real facebook profile. Its confirm that the person is real, dumb kid, who is trying to make quick bucks on the Internet. I have his address, where he currently work, what highschool he goes to and multiple pictures of himself.
While lession is learned, I feel like I should be doing something because Cash App noticed me that his Cash App account has some usual activities so that means he already scammed a few people before me. I should at least do something so there will be no next victim.
