32M wife and toddler. Shitty paid off house in need of work (Been chipping away at the work myself). Only debt is a low interest car payment ~20k over 6 years. ~25k in "emergency fund". No other savings or retirement. Currently make ~40k combined income. Cost of living is pretty high where we are.
Have a hard pea-sized lump on my neck that's been there unchanged for 3-4 years that I didn't know I should get checked out until a friend was diagnosed with lymphoma. Get night sweats, low energy, kinda foggy/bad memory. I thought it was just ADHD/Depression, but I feel like it's getting worse lately. I have an appointment with primary care Thursday to get things rolling. Crossing my fingers that it's just shitty genetics (kid is a hot sleeper too) and not lymphoma!
Edit: Thanks for the advice and well wishes! Probably TMI provided in retrospect, hah! I'm going to try to snag the first decent term life insurance I can find before next week just for the peace of mind. I promise to update with any news and not follow through!
