Hello everyone
When we go shopping (germany) we make sure to buy organic only. When buying vegetables we do it because theyre treated with a lot less toxins and when buying meat, my motivation is that the animal had a better life. For example we only buy eggs where the male chicks also will be raised and not just shredded.
This comes at a higher price though:
Vegetables 30 - 40% more expensive
Eggs 50 - 100% more expensive
Meat 50 - 300% more expensive. (Kinda makes you think of the living conditions of the normal chicken if the organic one costs 300% more.)
I was wondering about your opinion on this topic. I will continue to buy organic meat and eggs because i feel like the animals benefit so much from it.
I am not sure on organic vegetables though. Even though its organic, theyre still allowed to use pesticide/herbicide but a lot less than normal. Do you think the amount of poison used on conventional plants will be noticeable on your body? I can clearly notice the difference in food quality. The conventional vegetables are perfect, without a single bad spot or hole, no insect bites, the garlic is like 5x bigger and it stays fresh in the fridge a lot longer. While that is all nice, its just proof that substances in huges amounts are used.
