Hey everyone, 23 y/o here.
When I’m “broke” I have just enough money in my account to pay for bills.
When I get money (that is left over from paying my bills) I buy things I don’t need and I eat out ALOT (3-5 times a week). This happens until I don’t have anymore to spend. It’s actually kind of pathetic. Like I don’t even bother putting some money away because it always feels like something comes up.
What’s crazy is in the back of my head I always think “it always works out, you’ll make ends meet.” But all it’ll take is an unfortunate event to screw me up and set me back.
I never made a savings account and would like to know how to effectively make a plan and stick with it.
My monthly bills come out to $550, that’s including gas and I live with my parents so I don’t have to worry about food or rent.
I currently make $1500-$2000 (fluctuates a lot due to some factors but $1500 is baseline).
My credit score is in the 730-750 range. I paid off all my credit cards. I use them as a crutch for my bills when I don’t make enough money (like a plan B, Also this makes me lazy sometimes and I hate it)
I don’t know how much to save monthly, how should I invest? Do I make enough money to invest? Stocks?
My financial literacy is SHIT. If you have any videos/articles/books to recommend send them my way!
