Hello so I live in a one bedroom apartment that is low income and I share it with my son half of the week and he’s a youngster. Rent is about $585 and plus utilities it’s almost $1000. I only make about $1800 before taxes are taken out.
My parents have a mobile home on their property and it’s a three bedroom and two bathroom but pretty old. They will charge me $400 for rent and I’d have my utilities. The only problem I see is that it’s all the way across town from my work and and my sons school and my parents can be kind of controlling even though they swear they won’t be but that if the front yard is messy they’d let me know. It would be cheaper and bigger since I’ll also be starting college soon I won’t have to work as much.
My mom also knows that I love being on my own and I waited almost 2 years for a low income housing, so she offered, if I didn’t take the mobile, then she’ll help me with $200 towards my rent so I can go to school while working.
What do you guys would be my best course of action?
