I just looked at my statements. It is probably time to consider donating some of my entertainment budget to my favorite nonprofits.

We have been self-isolating as much as possible because my spouse works as a medical provider and I volunteer helping homebound folks without resources. So whenever possible, over the last month we have stayed at home to keep our care receivers as safe as possible.

We don't get take-out, not to mention we don't go anywhere with friends anymore. We didn't stock up on anything, but we go to the store as usual when we need stuff and while there have been shortages, supplies here are fine. I have been plowing through our reserves in the pantry and freezer, things that we have just sort of ignored over the last year or so. Making my own bread so I don't have to make a special trip to the store for it. What a nice surprise!

Meanwhile, my neighbor has TWO NEW FREEZERS in his garage! He has them both filled. That blows my mind. Should I be doing that too, or am I good with all this extra money in the bank? He told me the other day that they maxed out their credit cards buying food, gas for their generator (?), and bottled water. I was confused by the bottled water. We are all on our own wells over here.

Anyway, with all my neighbors going into debt, I'm interested in how you might be saving money without even trying right now?
