And a few years ago, I finally got the chance, now I'm a sucker for motorcycles in the off season that have been neglected, with or without electrical problems.

My budget is fairly low, and I've been "Climbing" to a better bike.

1986 Suzuki Savage 650. Bought from my dad, sold to my brother. Got my license on it. Looks nice, but is a terrible bike in many ways.

1981 Honda CB 750 Bought for $1000 in April, put on new tires and fixed the signals. Rode for 1.5 years and sold for $1600 in July.

1984 Honda Shadow 750. Bought for $900 "Won't start, I think it's the key switch". Cleaned the contacts, new tires, battery, seat upholstery. Bike is almost mint. I turned down $2000 last month. I think that was a mistake.

1999 Kawasaki Concourse 1000. Bought for $1100 late September with a broken mirror and worn-out tires. This bike is amazing in every way. I'm into it for $1600 and I figure I'll sell it next June for around $3000.

Various friends and neighbours act as if I'm living a lavish lifestyle with a "new bike" all the time. My wife shuts that chatter down pretty quick. I just don't know what I want what I really really want, and I'm having the time of my life. I joke that I need to own "all the bikes" before I buy my forever bike. Maybe there's not a forever bike? Maybe I'm addicted to buying motorcycles? My wife has set a hard limit of two motorcycles, and that's probably pretty important.
