Hello, i bought an iPhone 11 pro through my amex card and it was stolen about 1 month later. I filed a claim with amex purchase protection and they initially denied it and told me to first file a claim with my primary home insurance policy (Allstate).
After filing and getting denied from Allstate, i filed again with amex with the denial letter and amex paid me $250 (the deductible on Allstate policy).
Then i filed again with Allstate for the rest of the money and what Allstate is doing is they're taking the $250 payment as a payout from amex and charging the deductible after that. But amex basically paid that to cover the deductible.
So basically, Phone cost was 1081.42 including tax.
1081.42 - 250 (amex payout) - 250 (deductible).
I talked with amex and they said that they already paid me for that deductible and Allstate shouldn't be doing that and that it's not their problem anymore since they already paid me the deductible.
The phone was pick pocketed at a bar/night club. I have filed a police report. And it hasn't came online since then on find my iPhone.
Is there anything i can do now or is this normal?
