Essentially what is in the title. I am about to graduate college in a month, and start my first job. I know for sure that I will have an annual salary of $60k, and I know rent will be $750/ month for at least the next year; however, I don't really know how to create a budget beyond a couple of conflicting articles I've read online. I currently have around $20k in student loans to pay back, but I don't have to worry about health insurance for the next few years, so that works in my favor. Anyway, in a similar situation, how would you create your budget? Specifically, what would your saving strategies be, and how would you tackle saving with paying off student loans? I know I should max out my company's 401(k) matching, but should I also look into a Roth IRA account? What about investing? It would be great if you could also explain the reasoning behind your decisions. I'd also appreciate any wholistic resources on budgeting and money management.
