I figured i'd come here to ask for advice because I could potentially lose out on $2k in tax return.
I'm 18.
All of 2018 I was not living with my mom due to her being abusive.
from February 2018 - August 2018 I lived out-of-state with my uncle and aunt and then went back to my home state for University.
I made $11,000 in income in 2018.
I have state scholarships in my hometown which i returned to in August 2018, will taking action with the IRS put my scholarships at risk?
My mother reportedly only gave $1,600 to support me in 2018 and that was given to my aunt and uncle.
Am I on solid grounds to report this? Could I be negatively affected by taking action in any way?
Thanks in advance :)
