My dad is kind of ailing and it's inevitable that bills will just come in until he passes. With a limited income we are trying to prioritize other bills first. Is there any downside to just not paying medical bills in the meantime? Some are over 6 months old and do not appear to be accruing any interest or late charges. He doesn't have many years left and will not need to have good credit. I'm assuming if the amount owed isn't increasing through fees or interest and we have no need for good credit, there is no real harm in letting it all come out in the wash of probate? Am I missing something?
