The support gal on the phone sounded surprised she was able to waive the fee, and I'm assuming it's because few people ask.
I had the card for one year and made sure to pay it off every month, but I'm not an extreme spender (edit: less than 40k per year on the card).
If you haven't, call them up! They reversed the charge even though I asked a month and a half later.
