I'm getting married January 5; I'm 25, fiancée is 26. I net $1800 a month, and my fiancée nets about $1000 a month. We signed a lease on a <600 sq ft house for $500 a month half an hour from both of our places of employment. We're in rural/suburban Mississippi, and with the size of our place, the utilities should be pretty cheap. She and I both have car payments, hers is $290 a month for a pre-owned 2015 Ford Focus, mine is $280 a month for a pre-owned 2016 Kia Sportage. Her car insurance is $140 a month, my car insurance is $185 a month. She came out of college without any student loans, whereas I have just under $20k left on mine, paying $215 a month. My cell phone bill is $90 a month, hopefully will be paying off the phone itself with my Christmas bonus ($500), which will leave my phone bill at $40 a month. We haven't gotten her on my plan yet, but her phone is slowly dying. She's also a photographer on the side, and her MacBook recently bit the dust after 8 years. Neither of us have health insurance, and we have no intention of getting any right now, as we just can't afford it and are healthy and active. We also do not plan on having internet or cable. I know this is just a huge ramble, but the budget I've laid out has us barely scraping by every single month, and I'm trying to figure out what the best way to make things easier is.
