My boyfriend and I have been discussing marriage recently, and we have hit a roadblock when it comes to finances. He wants to keep our separate savings accounts separate, and only have one joint account between the two of us. I feel that all of our accounts should have at least each other's names on them, only for emergency situations. He does not like that idea, because he has known too many situations where one spouse will drain the other's accounts and run.
Is there a way to make it where we can access only each other's separate bank accounts in emergency situations? He works an extremely dangerous job, and if he was hurt, I would want to access the funds for medical bills.
