I left a job that I liked for the most part but that was really stalling me financially for a new tech job. When I took the new job they told me I'd be making more (47.5k salary to $27/hour) but would enjoy many of the same benefits. This was important because I work a second job on the weekends.

I would have the ability to work from home and I would not have to work an on call schedule.

When I started, both of these things were proved false. It was too late, I left my old job. Maybe there was something in the contract I didn't look at, but essentially it was what it was. I immediately started looking for another job and 6 months later, I have found one.

This job is a promotion and another pay raise. I'll be making 62k and my job will be similar to the first job I left.

On top of these things, my current job I've had issues with HR intimidating me into not reporting issues with a manger. They've also been in general rude to me ever since I brought up doing so. (They all really like him and told me he's the clown of the office and just didn't know his audience)

My new job wants me to start in a little over two weeks. Besides all the personal bullshit, I am moving the same day as my start date. This means I will be missing out on some PTO and I won't have the day off to move and because of my other job I will also not have the time to pack. This has led me to want to give a one week notice, very apologetically, and take the extra week to get my shit together.

Am I screwing myself in the future? (If I don't take this start date, I can't start until december 3rd and if I stick out the 2 weeks where I am, I may be screwing myself with moving and getting ANYTHING done)

tl;dr - current employer lied to me when I got hired, found a new job with better pay and more in line with my former job. Want to give just 1 week notice, but want to make sure I'm not screwing myself over int he future.
