My sweet mother does not possess any higher education and has very limited English (Spanish being her first language). She used to work at her friend's store at a flea market until recently and made very little money, however, that didn't matter since my dad was responsible for making all of their payments (Rent, utilities, etc.). Recently, they split up and she also lost her job (small retail businesses are not doing well here in south Florida). I am still in school (sophomore in community college) and I'm not sure what kind of job she can apply to due to her very limited English. She is a hard worker but the fact that she does not speak the language, did not go to college, and her age are definitely dragging her down. I have thought on helping her apply to retail stores such as Walmart or Target but even there she won't be able to get 40 hours. I calculated her monthly expenses and she needs to be making around at least $1,400 a month to cover her fixed expenses. If any of you could please share any advice, I will be forever thankful.
