I need help determining the amount of material I need to buy to cover my projection screen I'm building. This is for a flight sim cockpit, so the screen will be curved. Also, I'm setting up speakers behind the screen, so I'm planning to use milliskin spandex (1 layer of white on top of another layer of silver, as I've seen recommended) to allow the sound through. I'm going to do a full 180 degrees, with a radius of 51", and a height of 5'.The roadblock is I can't find any projects where someone did a curved screen with spandex. It's usually one or the other. On the flat spandex screens I've seen, the recommendation seems to be 3 yards of fabric for a 100" screen. I can't find much info on how much the fabric stretches. Also, I think my math calculations may be off for the surface area of a cylinder, because I'm coming up with 4 or 5 times the amount of material compared to a flat screen.I would really appreciate some hand holding on figuring out how many yards of fabric I'll need. I'd also appreciate anyone that could point out anything else I'm not thinking of. Thanks!Edit: This is for a two person cockpit, so that's why it's so big.Edit2: I found where I screwed up the math. Looks like I'll need four and a half yards of 60" wide spandex. I'm just not sure if I should buy exactly as much as will fit on the screen, or a little less because of stretching it. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2JNSZNR
