Over the summer, I made a mistake. Not consulting with my landlord about allowing people to stay at my apartment (without me present).
For any person to live in your apartment, you're supposed to file a subletting agreement. A charge of $!00 each.
Today I received my airbnb 2017 earnings. Right at $1,000. I was charged $500 ($100 each) by my landlord for the five people that stayed during this period.
With taxes, can I claim this as an expense? Or was it my mistake and I bite the dust.
