I’ll skip how this situation happened(yes I went to wrong hospital, out of my insurance network ). They are charging me this amount simply because they can. I’ve tried to negotiate and make a one time cash payment. They will discount it at 10%... Here’s my question: My only leverage is to let it go to collections and settle with the collection agency. If I do this , how much of a hit will my FICO scores take a hit? I have FICO scores of 850-847-850 and worked hard to get them to this level. Thanks.
