Hi, as you read from the title, I'm a quadriplegic and looking for help in the bay area. My disability limits my dexterity to say the least and I was hoping to ask my family to make a few things that might help me but they aren't confident enough.I can't use my fingers but I can use my left wrist (not my right though). I was wondering whether or not someone could help me make something similar to a claw or a pair of tongs for my left hand that could grab something when I bend my wrist.I was imagining something like a trash picker but controlled by my wrist. I have no idea how this would work but maybe something can be done if it was controlled by tension. Maybe something that would open up when my wrist is flaccid but clamp down when I bend my wrist back. For my right hand, I would really like something like a wrist brace with a cup holder attached to the palm. I need a wrist brace because my hand would just flop around otherwise and the cupholder would preferably actually grip the cup instead of just being someplace to put it. That way it wouldn't slide around.I have a general idea of what I want but no idea how to get about having it made. It would be amazing if someone could help me make it but if that's not possible, thank you in advance for any ideas that could help me go about actually making this a reality. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2fg0FyY
