I'm a 27 year old male with a 6 year old. His mother and I are separated. I have spent the last 10 years as a career server at many different restaurants in the city that I live in. I was making pretty good money in the industry, but have recently had to quit that profession. Going back full time is not an option.
I am currently in the process of building a new career in the construction industry, however, it is coming with some growing pains. The main issue being that I make considerably less money than I used to. To the tune of $1000 less a month.
As a direct result, I have blown through all of my savings and am currently behind on almost every bill except electricity and, as of today, daycare.
I have 3 dollars to my name, a phone that is currently shut off, and I owe my apartment complex 1100 dollars in fines.
I fear that if I do not get caught up on these bills soon, I will lose everything, including my home and my son. I am in desperate need of additional income to bolster my finances, however, the job that I currently work for does not offer extra hours and due to my custody agreement, I can only work every other weekend which makes it impossible to find weekend jobs.
Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I have no assets to speak of and an average check is about $350 a week paid weekly. I pay $650 dollars towards rent, $105 towards my cellphone, health insurance for my son is $125, electricity is around $75,$300 for daycare, utilities are around $50, plus food and gas.
The bills I'm behind on include the $1100 to my apartment complex as mentioned above, $220 towards my cellphone, and I also need to get my registration and inspection done on my car before this month's insurance expires since I don't think I'll be able to pay for that this month.
