Honestly I think, the company probably just wanna lure people in by advertising "We have 401k matching". During orientation, the speaker also said "we proudly match 10% up to 4% of your contribution" just to confuse people who's not aware what's going on. Yeah no, you probably shouldn't be proud.
The equity/target date funds provided are all having expense ratio more than 0.4% with only one vanguard fund (VINIX - thank god!) at the very bottom.
