EDIT: I MEANT MOTHER IN-LAW. Wrote this when i first woke up.

first post here, but I'm panicking and don't know what to do. sorry if this is out of place. My Wife and I are in our twenties, struggling financially with about $100/week income. House is fully paid off, car too, because we weren't in such bad shape a few years ago.

Here's the issue. My wife's mother, who was in a car accident many years ago and has incredible difficulty walking/standing (yet has been unable to get disability), is divorcing/being divorced by her husband and has no where to go but my tiny home.

She has a degree in social services, yet has been unemployed for almost the entirety of the last 10 years. Despite this, she is assuring us that somehow she'll find the employment that has eluded her for years and she just needs a roof over her head for a little while.

She is in a bad place right now, with the emotions of divorcing her husband of ~15 years, so denying her is not an option. (Wife is mildly worried she may be suicidal)

We can barely keep ourselves above water and debts are already beginning to pile up without her here. Does anyone have some advice on what I should do to keep my family from sinking?

We currently don't receive any financial assistance from the government beyond medical insurance and I have no idea what we could qualify for. I don't know why she's been denied disability, or how many times she's tried, but she really can't walk for more than a few minutes. We live in a small town without much employment opportunity.

edit: I am currently seeking employment, btw. Returned to college last year to try finishing a degree in computer science and took some time away from work so I could commit to it.
