Once in a while I really like to have fried chicken strips at home. This involves flour, egg, and bread crumbs in my case. I've been able to get the egg proportions pretty spot on but always have leftover dry stuff. I know its not good to pour grease down the drain, so I used to soak it up with paper towels. I realized that if I save the leftover flour and crumbs I can mix it with the leftover grease, let it cool, then toss it in the trash. I usually have enough dry goods to soak up all the oil.
Want specify that this is usually some kind of vegetable oil. When I end up with hamburger or bacon grease I let it solidify then toss or use it.
