Can’t decide on which route to go- Moving to Chicago next month and can’t settle on a place. We’ll (26y/o) be new to the city which brings more uncertainty to where we want to live.
One place is in a high rise downtown, a managed property with some amenities like a gym, hangout areas, monthly resident events, doorman, etc. View is nice, location is nice, apartment is surprisingly spacious (~1200 sq ft) but rent & utilities would be approx $3900/month. 14 months minimum lease.
Other place is in a smaller building maybe 12 units total, but the apartment itself is ~1300 sq ft. No community amenities, the location is still nice but further from downtown. Rent & utilities would be approx $3100/month. 12 month lease.
Both options fit in our budget, but obviously one would have us saving a significant amount of money annually. Is this a no brainer? Would love to hear your thoughts, want to make sure we’re being thorough in our decision and considering all things.
