Hey there guys, I am not exactly sure where to ask this but this seemed like the most appropriate sub I could think of.

I am currently a college student in the states but an opportunity came up in mexico, where my grandparents are from. Recently, they've given family members an opportunity to buy off property from them for what seems to be a deal of a lifetime. I've been interested in this chance for quite some time and they are proposing to give me around 3.5 acres of land for around $1500.

Owning land in Mexico was a goal I had set for myself in the future for some personal goals, but it seems like this is a very good deal but still don't know much, if anything about owning land internationally and how that ill affect me in the future.

Now, it's a hit on my wallet being a student, but I can manage it if I really do come to the fact that this would be a smart move. I am here for just general help or any input into what I should Do/read/study up on, things I need to know. Anything.

So what should I do guys?
