Hello, I'll give some quick background. I'm 18 years old and a senior in high school, and I'm looking to start building my credit score. I've had my own credit card for a little bit now, and I plan to keep using it responsibly. However, I just heard of the term "piggy backing" or being added as an authorized user for a family member, and I'm interested. My mother has a credit score in the mid 800s, and a long history of good credit, so I was going to talk to her about becoming an authorized user. I'm still very uninformed on how it all works so I require some clarification.
1) Would I need another credit card for her account?
2)Would I need to actually spend money for the benefits of piggybacking to work?
I don't want to lengthen this post with anymore questions lol.
Thank you for any/all responses!!! :))
