I know RIA's raise money from high net worth individuals and for some firms just normal retail investors, but my question was in regards to "institutional" investors.

I know that mostly means pensions, endowments.. but is it common for RIA's to go to like Retail Banks, Credit Unions, just regular banks and get them to invest?
