My girlfriend lives in Pittsburgh, she moved into her apartment with two weeks remaining in the billing cycle. She kept the AC At 78 if it was even on and the only electricity she was using was on her laptop and a load or two of laundry. Somehow this racked up a bill of $160 while her other two neighbors had a bill of 45-55 for the month. Her electric bill for a full month living there was only slightly more than the 2 weeks she was there which leads me to believe something is continuously draining power in a short somewhere. It's an older building that had a lot of work done to it recently, and the downstairs neighbor has even been shocked by a few outlets (Today an electrician came into his apartment and fixed a grounding issue which was probably causing it)
How can she prove something is leeching power / get her landlord to address the issue?
