My father just passed away. He left two checks totaling under $3000 from his job.
He has no beneficiaries or joint account at his bank. The money would really help cover his funeral.
Is there any way for her to cash his checks? We called a few attorneys and they were not sure.
They gave us other numbers to call and they all went nowhere. Is this not a common thing to happen?
We also called his work and they cannot redo the checks in my mothers name instead.
Any advice is appreciated.
