So long story short. I am 35, my father is in his 70's. Apparently he took out a 2 million dollar life insurance policy on me when I was a kid. The other day he surprises me with this life insurance policy that he wants to give me. By give me I mean he wants me to start paying the $900 a year premium on it. I don't know anything about these things. I have no children, no wife, and I really do not have a need for a 900 dollar a year bill for nothing. I told him thanks but no thanks, not interested, and that didn't go over very well, but that is a conversation for /r/manchildrelationshipadvice.
So what do I do with this thing? I have not seen the actual forms yet but I wouldn't be surprised if my signature was forged on documents, because it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened. If I tell him sure okay give it to me, and I just don't pay the thing and throw it in the trash, will I end up in collections or will it effect my credit somehow? Can I call this company and tell them just to cancel it, and to take my name and my SSN off of the policy because it was started without my knowledge and consent, and I want nothing to do with it? Thanks!
