I've been working at a small company for over two years. Company has a high turnover rate. As I worked here, four other employees left. I've been promoted twice in two years, had have had three raises. Each discussion about contract has been with Director A.

Problem: Contract was about to expire. I notified my boss a week ahead. Boss notified Director B, as A wasn't here. On Friday, B messaged me to go to the admin office to renew contract, at a specific time as she has to leave afterwards. However this time it is known amongst all staff that I am in presentation. I notified her I can't go at that time as I am busy. and she replies okay I will wait for you.

When I get to the office, she says: "Honestly I forgot about your contract. Here in our Asian culture (I work abroad), if the admin doesn't approach you about your contract, it's a given that you will continue working here. If they contact you, it's typically something bad." I replied just with ok. . .

She hands me a contract: Date, 17k, 2 year contract. Nothing about days off, insurance etc.

For context: Other job offers for the same experience: 20-25k, dental / health insurance, 1 year contract, 10 days off.

I agree to look at it, but haven't said anything since. I am heartbroken, as I love my team, my coworkers, etc but i'm so shocked at the lack of professionalism.

Does anyone have any experience on changing jobs between a job they thoroughly enjoy but unprofessional, to a job earning more that may be better?

First time doing this.

TLDR: Worked at an asian company 2 years. Offered extension contact with no changes in salary, completion bonus, or insurance etc. Contract is below competitive offers. Do I stay at a job I love or go to new company for better offer?
