I rented the Wolf of Wallstreet during the big GameStop hype and, like an idiot, forgot to return it. I found it in my house yesterday and braved the snow to return it. It cost me $19.80. I felt like an idiot. I only wanted it for a night. I watched it in a night and just forgot to return it. 100% my fault.
I reached out to Redbox and told them I’m the idiot that forgot I had the DVD. I just asked if they could at least refund some of it. They refunded $17.17.
The moral of the story is, it’s always worth asking for a refund even if you’re at fault. Don’t lie and don’t be rude but 5 minutes of work can sometimes save you $17.17. I do this sometimes. Worst case scenario is they tell me no. I tell them to have a nice day and we both move on.
