I have a couple stocks that tanked to about $0 worth, and some that are at a heavy loss. I don't have any stock sales this year. If I sell the bad stock, would that offset ordinary dividends, qualified dividends, or income in the first year? What if there are carryover losses?
Would it be better to:
-Sell $3000 worth of loss each year
-Sell all at once and continue to carryover the remainder?
-Keep some losses and use them when I have realized gains from a stock sale?
