I imagine after all the realtor fees and such I'll walk with 70-100k.
I'm 41, have two kids with 50 percent custody. I'm a CNA on an ICU in Colorado and my goal has always been to finish my schooling and get my nursing degree. Better pay amongst other things, it's been a life goal I developed years ago when I switched careers to be a cna. The last two years I've been paying the mortgage on my own, living in the house while my ex has done whatever.
I want to cut Back my work hours, and finish my nursing degree. I have 57 credits right now that would apply toward the bachelor in nursing, though I'm thinking get the associate because it's fast and you can get a nursing job with that, and later on finish the bachelor side.
I have a good amount of debt, having been paying the mortgage on my house on my own and taking care of my two kids while making 22 bucks an hour, a good amount of credit card debt has built up. Probably 25 or 30k altogether.
I have to cut back to part time and only work weekends so I can keep up with the nursing program, they run in cohorts so you pretty much have to have Monday thru Friday open.
Just trying to figure out what the best route is. Do I use a huge amount of my money to pay off all debts and the rest to live for the next year while I finish degree? Pay partially the credit debt, and pay it off as I'm working part time? Is there a way I can somewhat quickly turn that amount of money into more so I'm in a better position?
Very lost, don't know what to do. Sitting in my empty home, not touching anything because it has to stay immaculate for the buyers as they come and go.... I'm just lost
