Long story short, I'm almost 80-90% sure I'll be terminated when I go back to the office from my long vacation. I had a heated discussion with my boss last week, and he and leadership have been removing my access to different parts of the organization in the past few days.
I'm currently on a very long vacation in the Middle East, and I don't want to go back to the office only to find out my position has been terminated. If that were the case, it would be better for me to stay here for much longer instead of flying back.
I'm in a very comfortable financial position and have been saving for a while so I don't mind either option - getting fired or quitting
However, like I said, I don't want to waste an airticket home only to find out I've been fired
What do you guys think about my options? Should I immediately hand in a 2-week notice to HR and my boss after my vacation and just stay here instead?
