Just started working on this but pricing out the parts it's a way better deal than (for example) the $300 1up arcade machines at Walmart.
- cigar box (free from cigar store)
- raspberry pi 4 2gb - $35
- arcade buttons and joystick - $20 from Amazon
- hdmi cable - scavenged
- power adapter - scavenged
- micro SD card - scavenged
Now I just have to bring it all together and build the raspberry pi and buttons / joystick into an arcade controller with power in and hdmi out.
Will post some pics when finished but already $55 is a better deal than $300 for sure!
