In an attempt to save $50 a month by switching to my wife’s dental plan over mine, I’m now stuck with two family dental plans with a total cost of $200 a month. I got here when my employer failed to properly file the family status change documents in a timely manner or within 30 days of the qualifying event per IRS rules. Do I have any options from a tax perspective or otherwise to recoup some money on this costly mistake.
