I saw a post in r/cars that detailed someone's maintenance cost for owning a BMW, so that spurred me to add up everything I could in regards to owning my old Honda. Thought it would be interesting to see the total number. I really did not expect the number would be that high, with most of the cost going to gas and insurance (SoCal). I have liability insurance only, albeit it is fairly high coverage. My car is a gas guzzler, and only takes premium gas. ($3.7/gallon was an estimate, and I have no idea how good of an estimate it really is). Note: maintenance ended up being $5742 of the total.
