After this tech sell off it really showed how a stop loss can be crucial. Me personally I am a intermediate to long term investor (month to years). I’ve read many posts about stop losses many say they save u from recessions and others say they cause you to buy high and sell low. I ended up using non at all which burned me and made me lose gains. So my question to u all is how do u find this middle ground between buying and selling low vs losing all ur gains? I think I may start placing stops but not on arbitrary levels rather more important ones: break even, price action.
