So here’s the skinny: bought a house in 2012 for $319,000. Bough the house for the front porch and the big back yard, haha. Family has grown, not a lot of room in the main level.
Just saw a contractor who for 81K will give me a huge living room in the back, a deck. And increase my basement.
I just got an inheritance for 89K, and I’m probably getting another 80K once the estate is settled ( damn, I miss my parents).
Should I spend half my inheritance on an addition for my house? Seems crazy, but we definitely need the room/space. Gonna meet a few other contractors, but I’m guessing the price will be around the same.
